About ICC Water & Health

The Inter-University Cooperation Center Water & Health - ICC Water & Health - was founded in response to global challenges in the areas of water safety, hygiene and health. Through interdisciplinary collaboration between medicine, microbiology, engineering and environmental sciences, we develop innovative solutions to current water-related health problems.

A particular focus of our work is the safety of drinking water, from the source to the tap. We research microbiological and chemical contaminants, antibiotic-resistant germs and new pollutants that may pose a risk to human health. Our findings contribute directly to the improvement of national and international water protection guidelines and health policies.
