At the recently held Health Related Water Microbiology Conference (WaterMicro) in Amersfoort in the Netherlands, ICC Water&Health was represented more strongly than ever before. With 25 members, we were the second strongest country group after the organising country, the Netherlands, even ahead of Canada, the USA or China!

In a recent study, we provide for the first time fundamental findings on the spread of antibiotic resistance (ABR) in four river systems in Lower Austria, which are also of international significance. We used a comprehensive, harmonized methodology that enabled a comparison between different rivers.

The 38th annual conference of the Austrian Society for Hygiene, Microbiology and Preventive Medicine (ÖGHMP) took place in Salzburg from May 13-16. The ICC Water & Health was strongly represented with more than 20 participants. In total, the ICC Water & Health contributed 9 presentations, 2 chairmanships and 18 poster contributions.
