Our PhD student Dominik Kugler was awarded the “Best Presentation Award” at the Suez Health and Environment Meeting in Cannes (22‑24 June 2026), selected from among 15 participants. With his presentation on his PhD topic, „Guardians of the nanoverse: A validation roadmap for flow cytometry of nanosized particles”, he impressed not only the entire audience but also the scientific advisory panel.
In his work, Dominik has succeeded in reliably and quantitatively detecting the smallest viral particles using the latest flow cytometry technology (flow virometry) – a parameter that could serve as a valuable process parameter in water treatment in the future and could also be significant for many other issues in the water sector and environmental research.
